I will work with you to understand your child's special educational needs, the difficulties they experience and the support they may require. Using the information you share and the supporting evidence available, I will prepare a personalised EHC Needs Assessment application that clearly addresses the legal threshold for requesting an assessment.
What's Included
Information-gathering call
A one-to-one discussion to understand your child's needs, experiences and current educational provision. Reasonable message or voice note support can be offered where a telephone call is not accessible.
Review of supporting evidence
Consideration of relevant professional reports, school records, correspondence and other documentation to identify evidence that supports your request.
Application drafting
Preparation of a detailed, personalised EHCNA request, clearly explaining your child's special educational needs, the difficulties they experience and why an EHC needs assessment may be necessary.
Application letter
A completed application letter that clearly addresses the legal threshold for an EHC needs assessment.
Once completed, I will send the application directly to you, ready for you to submit to your local authority alongside your supporting evidence.
This service can also support parents preparing a new EHC needs assessment request following a previous refusal, including families who have been involved in SEND Tribunal (SENDIST) proceedings.
Unfortunately, local authorities sometimes refuse requests for EHC needs assessments, even where applications are well-evidenced and meet the legal threshold. While I cannot guarantee that your local authority will agree to carry out an assessment, I will work to make your application as clear, detailed and well-supported as possible, ensuring the relevant evidence is considered and the legal threshold is clearly addressed. My aim is to give your request the strongest possible foundation and help you feel confident that your child's needs have been properly represented.
Please note: This service covers the preparation of your EHCNA application. You will be responsible for submitting the application and supporting evidence to your local authority. Ongoing correspondence with the local authority, appeals and tribunal representation are not included in this service.
